Studio Policy
Payment
Lesson fees for the school year are due at the first class in September. Post dated cheques made out to Laura Stewart are dated for the 1st of every month from September to June are required before lessons can begin. Lessons are taken once a week. NSF cheques will incur a processing fee of 20 dollars.

Holidays and Missed Lessons
There will be no lessons on statutory holidays. Cancellations require 24 hours notice. More than two classes missed can not be made up and will have to be forfeited due to limited spot availability.
Books and Materials
It is the student’s responsibility to make sure they have the required books and materials for their lessons. The 2015 edition of the RCM Celebration Series is recommended for students learning beyond beginner levels. Method books for beginners are chosen before the classes begin based on age and musical knowledge.
Recommended books can be purchased at a local music store such as:

Students are expected to practice daily, allowing sufficient time to properly complete assignments/exam requirements. Studio recitals are held twice a year, attendance is required.
Examinations
Students may choose to take examinations through the Royal Conservatory of Music for piano and/or theory. Please ask your teacher before registering for any exam.
